Clifton Ingram’s commercial property team has been shortlisted for Legal Firm of the Year at the Thames Valley Property Awards 2026.
Lydia Methven and Matthew Bell have also been shortlisted for Rising Star in Property at the same awards. Lydia is recommended by the Legal 500, which in 2026 described her as "a rising star, destined for greater things, with a sharp mind and first-class knowledge of the law". Matthew is recognised for his work on high-value development and commercial property transactions and is valued by clients for his calm approach, technical expertise and ability to navigate complex deals while keeping commercial objectives firmly in focus.
Commercial property advice across the Thames Valley
The team works from the firm’s offices in Reading, Wokingham and Farnham, and acts for clients across Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey and Hampshire, along the M3 and M4, and more widely across the south of England.
The work covers buying and selling commercial property, commercial leases, development schemes, property portfolios, secured lending, business premises and rural land. It ranges from a single set of premises for a local business through to development land, rural holdings and property that forms part of a larger corporate deal.
Much of the work comes from clients of many years’ standing, some of whom have been with the firm across the whole of their legal lives, from a first house purchase through to the sale of a business.
Property rarely sits on its own. A site acquisition can turn on the terms of a company sale. A lease can raise an employment question. A family landholding brings in succession, trusts and tax. Clifton Ingram covers corporate and commercial, litigation, employment and private client alongside property, so the specialists who are needed can be brought in at the point the question arises rather than after a problem has taken shape.
