Partner elected to STEP National Council

Peter McGeown, Head of Tax Planning, Wills & Probate at Clifton Ingram LLP Solicitors, has been elected to serve on the STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners) Council of England & Wales.

Peter McGeown will represent the STEP Midlands Constituency, which encompasses the Thames Valley, Birmingham, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire branches.

STEP is the worldwide professional association for practitioners dealing with family inheritance and succession planning and has over 100 branches globally. The STEP Council exists to set the strategic direction of the Society and its members hold consultations, serve on working parties and feed back to their constituencies.

Commenting on his appointment, Peter McGeown said “Having been a member of STEP since its inception I am delighted to have been voted onto the Council. STEP plays a vital role in helping to assure best practice and I look forward to bringing the knowledge and expertise which STEP has to the widest possible audience, whilst also drawing upon my own experiences throughout my 30 years’ as a specialist in this area”.
Peter McGeown served as Chairman of the Thames Valley branch of STEP from 2008 to 2012, a position currently held by Denise Drammis, also of Clifton Ingram LLP Solicitors. Peter has nearly 30 years’ experience, mainly in Tax & Estate Planning, Wills, Powers of Attorney, Trusts, Contentious Probate and Charities.
