Marveen Smith is a highly experienced Solicitor and Principal Consultant in Clifton Ingram’s Dispute Resolution team, specialising in Residential Landlord and Tenant Law and Property Litigation. With more than two decades of dedicated legal practice, she offers exceptional depth of knowledge to clients navigating property‑related disputes, compliance matters and litigation.
Her expertise spans all aspects of residential landlord and tenant law, including possession proceedings, drafting specialist legal documents for landlords and letting agents and managing complex property litigation cases. Marveen is also well‑known for delivering high‑quality training to non‑solicitors in the property and lettings sector, helping professionals develop a strong understanding of the legal framework surrounding tenancies.
Before joining Clifton Ingram, Marveen spent over 24 years as the owner and head of PainSmith Solicitors, overseeing the firm’s growth and development throughout that time. She played a key role in expanding the practice’s national client base, including representing the largest letting agent in the UK. She oversaw the development of a dedicated possession proceedings department and led a specialist team providing legal helplines, documentation and litigation support to landlords, agents and property professionals across the country.
Marveen qualified as a Solicitor on 2 October 2001 after completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at Bristol University. She is a member of both the Law Society and Propertymark, reflecting her commitment to professional standards within the legal and property sectors.
